What is an Early Learning Preschool Class in Pembina Hills?

-Pembina Hills School Division offers an Early Learning Program for children with complex needs who require specific skill instruction in a small, play based learning setting.

-The program may be comprised of play partners and children with a variety of special needs. The program is structured to meet the needs of each child with an emphasis on learning through play, guided by a qualified staff.

-A skilled Educational Team comprised of Program Assistants, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Behavior Specialist and an Early Education Teacher work together to plan the program and address the needs of the children.

Parental involvement in the child’s program is encouraged through Family Classroom Visits with one or more members of the Learning Team. These pre-arranged focus visits bridge learning goals from school to the home environment.

The principles, goals and philosophy of the Early Learning class are in keeping with Alberta Learning’s Early Childhood Services guidelines.
